Kim Shaw is a native New Yorker who relocated with her family to Roselle, New Jersey in 1997.  She has been a Humanities educator in Union County for the past 15 years, on both the secondary and post-secondary levels. Her passion for teaching is evidenced by the countless hours spent working with her students and other youth in and out of school.

Kim has served as the 4th Ward Councilwoman of the Borough of Roselle for the past eight years, working tirelessly to be an advocate for the residents of Roselle, to strengthen the Borough’s infrastructure and to move this community forward as a model urban destination. She has served on numerous Council Standing Committees, helping to implement initiatives within various departments, supervising the preparation of the municipal budget, and reviewing and modifying practices and procedures as needed in furtherance of Borough goals and vision.

Kim is a published author and holds the terminal degree of MFA from Rutgers Graduate School -- Newark. She is also a graduate of City University of New York, Baruch College and State University of New York, Delhi.

Over the years Kim has served in various community service capacities, including president and secretary of the Rahway Chapter of NCNW, Roselle Girl Scout leader and parent volunteer for various youth sports teams. Donald and Kim Shaw recently celebrated 25 years of marriage and are the proud parents of two adult children.
