Denise Wilkerson is a community activist, elected official, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and women’s advocate.
Wilkerson understands that giving back to one’s community is an absolute must and is proud of her ongoing work with local community organizations. Currently, she serves as President of the Union County National Organization for Women, and is a lifetime member of the National Council of Negro Women in the Roselle Section and served as former Second Vice President. Continuing her work in the community she is the Corresponding Secretary of the NAACP Roselle Area Branch.
Serving as an elected official gives Wilkerson the ability to help her community at an even greater level. Wilkerson served as the First Ward Councilwoman from January 2018 to December 2019. In January 2020, she started her three-year term as Councilwoman-at-Large.
Wilkerson is also currently serving as Council President, and is the current Chairwoman of the Governance and the Redevelopment Committees, and a member of the Finance, Recreation, and DPW Committees.
As an entrepreneur Wilkerson uses her PR Firm to help businesses achieve their goals. She believes, “A person is successful not only because they are able to achieve a degree of success for themselves, but because they are also able to clear a path for others to be successful.”
