Statement from Mayor Donald Shaw & Borough Council on the Passing of Kathy Lloyd, Former PIO & Dedicated Community Member

“It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Kathy Lloyd, the borough’s former public information officer (PIO) and editor of a local community news site, TAPinto Roselle/Roselle Park.

As PIO, Kathy was an important team player at Borough Hall during the onset of the pandemic. She worked to provide the most accurate and updated information to residents during such a difficult and scary time. Prior to her work with the borough, she was well known for running TAPinto Roselle/Roselle Park, covering many community and school events to publicize our municipality.

Aside from her professional career, Kathy was a dedicated community member, volunteer and friend to all who knew her. She served as executive director of Roselle 24/7, regularly volunteered with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life, and was named a Union County Woman of Excellence in 2015. Kathy also partnered with the Borough to organize the first-ever Roselle Walks for Cancer campaign.

On behalf of the Borough Council and myself, I wish to express our sincere condolences to the friends and family of Kathy Lloyd. May she be remembered as someone who was always willing to help the Borough of Roselle.”
